Police arrest five in Harare over unregistered medicines worth US$2,697



 Five people have been arrested in Belvedere, Harare, for allegedly possessing unregistered medicines, the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed.

Officers detained Vanessa Mudokwenyi, 27; Cheneta Zifodya, 46; Jack Muchineuta, 40; Tonderai Veremu, 52; and Collen Magama, 52, at the Showground parking space on 16 May 2026.

According to the ZRP, the suspects were found with a variety of unregistered pharmaceutical products. The items included injections such as Ashotoxy, Penstrirect cattle injections, Oxytetracycline, Ceftriaxone Sodium, Lidocaine and Tetanus vaccines. 

Police also recovered flu tablets, Amoxicillin, Calcigard retard, Enalapril Maleate, hypodermic needles, Sodium Chloride and other pharmaceutical products. The seized goods have an estimated street value of US$2,697.

The five face charges of unlawful possession of unregistered medicines. 

Police have not yet released details on when the accused will appear in court.
